I can’t tell you how many times I’m listening to something, and I think, that reminds me of something, but I can’t remember what it is, and then it’s a song from this fucking album. This really did invent basically every even slightly alternative band ever.

i like nico's vocals, they were fitting for this album.her arrogance shines in "femme fatale" and you can so tell she sang that track with pride, really makes it.

I don't know man, this album houses some of the best songs I've ever heard, but it feels so messy. A band of four musicians and an out of place German model. Warhols' artwork. The soft jangly pop songs which are suddenly interrupted by experimental hypnotising masterpieces. I love many things about it, but as an album it doesn't feel right.

I distinctly recall being 16 and home from school with a fever the first time I listened to this album. The music perfectly fit my addled state of mind, exuding a sense of familiarity as well as something completely enigmatic. Truly an album I will never get sick of, despite first absorbing it whilst I was sick.

Hypnotic album, the drummer is worse than Meg White and Nico sounds like a dying cow, and yet this is one of the most memorable pieces of music every created to me

Most ideas on Sgt. Peppers were already on Revolver. Whereas before TVU&N, at least as far as I know, there were no albums pursuing these aesthetics, production and themes which would later be foundational for so many branches of rock. So this is the most important album of 1967, but only because Revolver is from 1966

VU was influential in terms of attitude in songwriting and production, everything here is basically a big "fuck you". beatles went about it with a "how can we make this fucked up, but appealing at the same time?"

this album needs a remix like sgt. peppers 50th anniversary, the mixing is pretty bad.

tvu&n is a legendary album. this album is what layed the foundation for most music acts many years after. sunday morning precedes 10's indie rock and dream pop music by 50 YEARS. lou reed birthed punk. i say this with the upmost confidence any human being can possibly have. songs that deal with controversial subject matter like heroin (heroin use) and venus in fur (masochism) were released around the same time the beach boys and the beatles were singing about being with a girl and "giving them a good ole time". this dissension from safe and inoffensive subject matter pretty much led to acts like the sex pistols and black flag to exist

One of the best albums of all time. The songwriting, the playing, the raw production values... everything about this record screams "masterpiece." Anyone who speaks badly about this record has poor taste.
