"Полковник и Однополчане" was a russian rock-band founded in 1995 in St. Petersburg, Russia. The band was formed around the songs of Aleksey Hrynov, and was notable for having a wildly rotating cast - over the years more than sixty musicians have performed as part of the band with Aleksey on various recordings and concerts, most of them members of other well-known russian bands such as Аукцыон, ДДТ, Чиж & Co and many others.
The group leader was Aleksey Hrynov (Алексей «Полковник» Хрынов) [04/06/1965 - 09/12/2008], who passed away from a heart attack in September '08.
The band's first album, Первый Призыв (First Conscription) came out at the end of 1996. Several concerts were organized, but no tour could be made to work due to the band-member's obligations in their other collectives. Normally Aleksey performed solo, or together with those band members who were free at the given moment. The second album Война и Любовь (War and Love) was released in 1998.
