Pentagon (Hangul: 펜타곤; stylized as PENTAGON; abbreviated as PTG) is a South Korean boy group formed by in 2016. The group consists of ten members: Yeo One, Hong Seok, Hui, Jin Ho, Yan An, Shin Won, Woo Seok, Kino, E'Dawn and Yuto. They were introduced through the Mnet survival show Pentagon Maker.

In December 2015, Cube Entertainment announced that they were preparing to debut a boy group in mid-2016, four years after BTOB's debut.

The final lineup of Pentagon was decided through Mnet's reality program Pentagon Maker. Pentagon Maker aired online through Mnet's digital content brand, M2, and showcased the members challenging five aspects: Performance, Dance, Teamwork, Talent and Mind. By the end of the show, Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, Yeo One, Yuto, Kino and Wooseok were confirmed as the official members of the group. The group was originally scheduled to host their debut concert on July 23, 2016 at Jamsil Indoor Stadium, but Cube Entertainment delayed the concert and debut date of the group because of some internal issues.

On September 30, 2016, Pentagon were confirmed to debut on October 10, 2016. It was also confirmed that the group would be debuting with ten members, including the members eliminated from Pentagon Maker: E'Dawn, Shinwon and Yan An.

Pentagon released their first mini album Pentagon on October 10, 2016. Pentagon is composed of seven tracks, including the title-track "Gorilla". The group also held their debut showcase on the same day.

They held their first solo concert, on December 6 at the Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin District, Seoul. The tickets for the concert were sold out within eight minutes of going on sale. On December 7, the group released their second mini-album Five Senses, including the title-track "감이 오지 (Can You Feel It)".

On March 29, Pentagon released their first Japanese mini album Gorilla. The album contains Japanese versions of their previous songs and two new Japanese tracks.

On May 1, Hui and E'Dawn debuted in the sub-unit Triple H with Hyuna. The mini album, named 199X, contains title track "365 Fresh" and three other songs.

On May 18, Pentagon pre-released a special track titled "Beautiful" which was produced by BTOB's Ilhoon. Soon after the song's release, they announced plans for a comeback with album titled Ceremony. Unfortunately, Yan An was unable to participate in comeback activities due to an injury. The music video for title track "Critical Beauty" was released on June 12.
