Biography
The Russian singer Alice Vox was born in Leningrad on 30 June 1987 under the surname Kondratyeva.
As an independent singer Alice combines the most progressive genres of modern music : synth-pop, electro-pop, dance rock. The main goal of the creative group A-Quantumband is to develop these musical trends on the Russian stage.
The name Alice Vox became widely known as a soloist of the musical band “Leningrad” where she took part in filming several video clips.
Alice was born on 30 June 1987 in Leningrad. At the age of four she attended the ballet studio at the Lensovet Palace of Culture and few years later she was involved to the children’s studio “Music Hall” where her talent of singing was opened. At the age of six she was given the main role in the play “New Year Adventures of Alice or the Magic Book of Desires”. The classes in the theatre began to interfere with schooling and Alice’s parents had to take her away from “Music Hall” when she was eight years old. Nevertheless, during the study at school Alice continued to attend music classes, became the member of the Dance Sport Federation, went on practicing vocal and took part in the city competitions.
After the school graduation, Alice entered the St. Petersburg State Academy of Theater Arts (SPbGATI) and a year later, she moved to Moscow to enter GITIS. Alice reminds her vocal teacher Ludmila Afanasyeva as a person who made her move up in the world and brought up more than one generation of Russian artists. When Alice turned 20, she came back to St.Petersburg and entered the University of Culture and Arts on the specialty of jazz vocals.
In 2007, Alice met a former choreographer Irina Panfilova who invited her to work as a vocalist in the restaurant-cabaret “NEP”. She combined the new activity with work of planning corporate events, weeding parties and performances in the karaoke bar. At that time, her stage name was MC Lady Alice and her personal fame and first earnings began after the successful performance in the nightclub "Duhless" where she performed in the vocal hosting style.
In 2012, a famous Russian band “Leningrad” was looking for a temporary vocalist on the place of Julia Kogan who went on maternity leave. Alice had a success on the audition with the repertoire she made in her late teens and soon she performed with the band in Germany. Six month later Julia Kogan joined the band again but soon she left and Alice became the first and leading soloist of the “Leningrad”.
The work in the band was very productive and Alice shot with several hits such as "Patriot", "37th", "Prayer", "Bag", "Shorter", "Dress", "Crying and crying", "Exhibit" and others.
On 24 march 2016, Alice Vox had published in Instagramm an announcement of leaving the band “Leningrad” and the beginning of a solo career. The decision of leaving was made by Alice and her former colleague Sergey Shnurov supported her and had no argues. The news broke instantly through the Internet, attracting everyone’s attention.
