this album sounds like pissing by the dumpster of a dingy fast food chain in the outskirts of an underfunded city in california

can't believe how hard I was filtered back when this thing dropped; this is easily top 3 grips. I've just never been a fan of that brickwall lowpass at like 18khz that they started applying to everything since NOTM. makes everything sound weird. anyway, fantastic album.

Coming back to this after 4 years, this is an appeal to their middle-aged, soy ridden white boy fans. The least ambitious record to date and it certainly doesn't shine on any of its tracks save for Black Paint and Flies. Nothing about this record has any identity to speak of. Easy to see how that they were running out of ideas in retrospect, seeing that they haven't mustered up any material that can be put up into an album. Not revisiting any time soon. Embarrassing. TND signing out.

It easily has one of their best bangers, but as an album, as a whole package, it just doesn't work perfectly for me. Exmilitary which is a mixtape works like ten thousand miles better than an album than this when listening from start to finish. But hey, what do i know. It's just my shitty opinion.

nah bro this shit is fire asf as an album, from start to finish it fits everything well, even it aged like fine wine. Exmilitary is full of bangers, dope shit, cocaine shit, YOTS is more "relaxed" but still being dope. Its a pleasure to have a different album like YOTS in the whole DG discography coz is really different, songs like the horn section, dilemma, the fear, lindas in costudy, streaky, dissapointed don't fit in any other dg project like it fits on YOTS. The experimentacion is also something good in this project, so yea this is probably one of the best dg albums like the other ones and fuck the metascore.

I would never use the adjective "relaxed" to describe YOTS. dude this album literally sounds like vomit, it sounds like the cover art. Is that good or not, you have to make that part out for yourself.

"Relaxed" in the context of their discography, to be clear. Also, Vomit is a great adjective to describe it, "vomit" coming from them is the chilliest thing they can offer tbh.

This album is so good, every track is good, there aren't any mediocre tracks on this thing, although there are chiller tracks, its diluted compared to their other work and definitely diluted compared to the release after this (GMail and the restraining orders.) But its still very good. astounding album, 9.5/10. Not better than BP or TPTB though.

Is it just me, or is the quality of the album, or rather the mixing, quiet muddy opposed to their other albums that split your skull open with sharp blows?

Yep. It's their muddier album, there's a very "dirty" sound to it. I personally prefer their cleaner mixing, like the style used in BP, but hey some people love this one's sound too.

it's much more subdued and i actually think it fits the album really well. i feel like the songs wouldnt hit as well if they were as in your face as something on bp or tms
