How the f**k has it taken me 4 years to muster up the effort to listen to this? I'm failing in my old age.

Listening to 'One Day Like This' for the first time from start to finish is one of my happiest and absorbing moments when listening to music. Great album.

Awesome album (except the first track - what's with the claxon?!). 'The loneliness of a tower crane driver' is currently my fav song of all time. Mirrorball has also key-noted itself into my life in a major major way. And the rest are just wicked in their own right. Can't recommend this album highly enough really.

"What a ridiculously underrated album. Where is the hype for these guys?" I trust this displays a dry sense of humour? Mercury Music Winners and THE band of 2009... f you mean chart success then f#ck it - the charts only consist of plastic music for the masses. Elbow are EXACTLY where they should be.

Wonderful band. The piano middle eight (if that's the right terminology!) on 'Mirrorball' swept me away somewhere when I first heard it, and I still haven't come back yet.

Album of the year? Can't wait to see them at V Festival. "Grounds for Divorce" & "Mirrorball" are my fave tracks.

Guy's voice reminds me of Peter Gabriel. Elbow have their own beautiful sound to go with it, too. Now I know what to do with my HMV gift card...

A genuine masterpiece. One of the best albums of this decade, I can't fault it. The best aspect though is the mastering, the fact that it's been given a good sized dynamic range. It brings it to life, allows the music room to breathe and by god does it do that. If this album had been butchered at the mastering plant by over compression, it wouldn't have sounded half as good as it does. turnmeup.org - I urge everyone to read this, we need more awareness of how the industry is strangling music at the mastering plant.

I have friends who have given this album a miss because it's too 'mainstream' which is a shame, although they have been around for a long time now this does seem to be their breakthrough album and justifiably so. It's a beautiful record and perhaps even better than their debut which is also a great record.

Just beautiful, moving, wonderful music. Love it love it love it. Wondering where I've been all my life that I've only just discovered them today. I now want to immediately buy all the albums and lock myself away in a room for a week!
