Period from 1997 to 2004 the peak of creativity, the most tragic motives, psychedelic arrangements without influences from post-rock on later albums. The early albums are very raw.

The song "Descent" from the Album "A Pyrrhic Existence" (2019) that Last.fm scrobbles is the track teaser (7:53-7:54). But the song is actually 27:39 in time length.

To me these guys are the epitome of funeral doom metal and the only band in the genre and one of the few in general that I find a truly terrifying listen every time. But what it is that makes them so much more cathartic than their peers, I can't really put my finger on.

They did it again. Esoteric are gods. A Pyrrhic Existence is on par with The Maniacal Vale, another metal masterpiece. Best metal album of the year easily.

Evidently they’re recording a new full-length as we speak, which is to be a 2CD/3LP set. https://patriciathomasmanagement.com/2019/02/14/experimental-doomsters-esoteric-set-to-enter-studio-to-record-seventh-full-length-album/ Good to hear – as great as the remasters of old material are, it’s been more than seven years since Paragon of Dissonance now. If we’re really lucky, that live show in Italy they recorded a few years back may finally see an official release as well.

The new "The Pernicious Enigma" production (remixed/remastered in Priory Rec.) is totally awesome! It always have had 10 layers of depth in its music, now it has like 20 layers and each of it is crystal cosmos-clear. 100500 new nuances discovered even after hundreds of listens before.

The Maniacal Vale is one of the most intense experiences in metal. Truly other dimensional.

The "Similar Artists" tab should be disabled for Esoteric. There's no other band that sounds like this. [6]

Вот, кстати, недавно прочитал: "As of 2017 Esoteric continues preparation for the next opus, and looks forward to performing on stages in new territories. They currently find themselves with the strongest line up in their history, consisting of Gordon Bicknell (Guitar since 1992), Mark Bodossian (Bass since 2003), Greg Chandler (Guitar and vocals since 1992), Joe Fletcher (Drums since 2007), and Jim Nolan (Guitar since 2009)." https://www.esotericuk.net/Bio Давно пора, а то уже 7 лет прошло с "Paragon of Dissonance".
