I wish more people would check out their albums from the time when they came back (mid 90's), since then they continue to release amazing stuff. Highly recommended: Sun Blues (2016), All Under The Leaves, The Leaves Of Life (1996), Song Of The Beautiful Wanton (2000), Everyone Feels Like A Stranger (2011) and Bitter Apples (1995). I always love to get lost into their very special world.

True. "Song Of The Beautiful Wanton" is my absolute favorite, the atmosphere is breathtaking.

I guess it's because of that doom-metal band of the same name that popped up this year? I'd say, it's quite disrespectful to change it like that, considering this year is EIG's 40th anniversary.

Such a nice hidden gem! I hope they where bigger back in the day! Kinda sad looking at the lack of listeners.

Очень доброе музло, лёгкое и романтичное. С чувством светлой ностальгии, но без нафталина в саунде.

I'm thankful I discovered the album "Song Of The Beautiful Wanton" (2000). It's very hard to find and I love the atmosphere on most of the songs. Same with "Everyone Feels Like A Stranger" (2011) they prove they still make wonderful albums even if they are all hard to find gems.

I absoluetely love "Song of the beautiful wanton" though I must admit that "Everyone feels like a stranger" is the last EIG record which still matters to me. I like it and everything before that. Would love to have "Song of the beautiful Wanton" as a vinyl record. Too bad you can get them only on CD.

Few years ago I also discovered their album "Sun Blues" (2016), wonderful atmospheres, but it is more an album for sunny days, like when I was on a big cemetery on a sunny day in spring with colourful flowers growing everywhere. I also discovered "All Under The Leaves, The Leaves Of Life" (1996) this year, amazing as always.

I don't know if anyone else shares the same sentiments but I go through phases of what I consider to be my favorite EIG album. Lately I've been completely captivated and enraptured by '..pale hands I loved so Well'..such a concept of melancholic beauty.

i think the debut album is vastly overplayed here. this probably makes people new to EiG start with that one and believe the rest of their stuff could be as noisy and minimalistic as that. i'm not saying PaM is bad, but come on! grow some ears (not in a troll-like manner, of course, just to bash my suggestion) and give their later songs a go!

Agreed! As great as their earlier albums are (especially their 2 ones from 1982 and Rust Red September) they have released so many amazing albums from 1995 on after they came back, still doing so today, "Ink Horn / One Star", the most recent one from 2019 still very good with stunning atmospheres. Every album of them has its own distinctive atmosphere, just listen to Sun Blues (2016), Winter Sang (2018) and Ink Horn, 3 years between them but atmosphere-wise they couldn't be more different from each other.
