I don't know who tagged this band as viking metal. There wasnt any viking on Finland, they have their own mythology

A little besides the point, but Vikings weren't only Scandinavian, though. It's a general term for raiding seafarers. The Oeselians, for example, were Finnic Vikings originating from modern-day Estonia. But yes, Korpiklaani is very Finnic mythology-focused.

You're right, but Korpiklaani's sound is quite similar to viking metal musically. That's probably why

Their music is based on Finnic mythology, however the sound of the music is similar to other viking metal bands even if they aren't Nordic.

IMO Korpiklaani doesn't really have a bad album, but Spirit of the Forest and Voice of Wilderness are the most special ones.

Looks like Jonne solo effort is a new trend on Korpiklaani too: slower songs, more atmospherical, less myths & folklore and some party songs. Not bad but far from being memorable

"Jylhä" is great! Haven't listened to these guys in years, glad to see they have not stagnated.

Лучше унылого Kulkija, но по сути вымученно и очень средненько. Вообще после первых двух интересных альбомов стали медленно скатываться в алко-посредственность и безыдейность.

Looks like Korpiklaani sound is getting the approach of Jonne's solo. Slower songs and not so "heavy" as before. Not bad as I heard the 4 singles days ago but it's almost atmospheric folk.

Kulkija was ok, but I won't be inclined to listen to it again. It was pretty boring.

There's actually no comment showing a complaint about the stylistic approach, so how do you come up with such an accusation? I bet most people just find "Kulkija" to be way too long in terms of running time thus tedious at some point. It's 71 minutes and we're certainly not talking about the likes of Moonsorrow for example. There's a lot of great ideas on this record but also a lot of off-time - despite the different musical direction.

I'm inclined to agree, found it a bit tedious. Although I think it's been a while since they've put out a really great album anyway.

The best band. Korpiklaani was one of my first folk metal bands and still is most beloved. Gotta love the beer-and-folk tunes of theirs! All albums are great and very consistent. My favorite though must be Korven Kuningas :)
