Listening to New American Gospel for the first time. Only got on the first song and I like it! Can't believe I didn't listen to it when it was new!

First a collab with Mustaine, then Kreator, 2024 we need a Lamb of God & Phil Anselmo track.

Resolution was the last good album. Everything after that is largely forgettable & formulatic.

It's really surprising to see this kind of opinion on this band. I've always considered Lamb of God as one of the most consistent bands in the world, and therefore I like all of their releases.

I agree with you. I do not agree with evolving. Change is not always evolving. Having them go to another genre, that is just changing, not evolving. Forcing fans that like them already to just go with something else is not right. I listen to Deathcore, then I expect Deathcore. Same with Metalcore, and Death Metal. Same with Metal or Heavy Metal. If I wanted Rock or Pop Rock, then I go with bands that do that. Not constantly changing. Would you like Brian Adams doing Deathcore or The Last Ten Seconds of Life doing Rock? That was an example. It is hard on a true fan to have massive change on their music. The band might as well say to their fans FU ALL, if they do that much of a change.

Same goes with Disturbed. I would most likely stop listening to Disturbed if they messed up their music to change.

There are good songs on all the albums but they just don't hit the same anymore for me.

I haven't really liked anything past Wrath. At least I got to see them live around then. Maybe I'll give their subsequent releases anther try.

Headbangers Boat motherfuckers! That shit was a good time! The wildest shit I have ever been a part of. I personally saw 22 concerts total from 13 different bands. Thank you Lamb Of God for taking a bunch of us metalheads to rock out on a boat in the middle of the ocean. Already counting down until the 2024 cruise! 🤘🤘

the fringe he wore at the time of As the Palaces Burn looked great, too bad he shaved his head for Sacrament.

I wish more bands released the separate audio tracks (vocal, guitar, drum, bass) like they did with Wrath. There was really no need to do it for this album, though.

Does anyone know of bands similar to Lamb of God, but without the constantly aggressive vocals?

I don't mind aggressive vocals, I just don't like them all the time. Thanks, I'll check it out :)

Try Xerath, specifically the album III. Bit of a difference in style but if it's the riffing you like in LoG, Xerath is packed full of great riffs. Gojira also comes to mind but might have the same vocals problem. I have a similar issue with LoG, my ears get tired of the vocals. I think they're just too loud in the mix for me.

New single sounds like a LoG song and...that's about it tbh. Newer material just sounds better live tbh.

Art Cruz is by no means a bad drummer, but Lamb of God severely lack their characteristic dynamics ever since Chris Adler left. Most songs of their self-titled album have already been dull but these "Omens" singles feel extraordinarily stale and uninspired. So, yes, "people need to learn from this BEAST of a band", but they should do so rather by listening to anything up until "Resolution" than wasting their time on these latest snoozefests.

I am trying to understand why we would support a musician at some point and stop at another. Sure you got your own standards and are willing to apply them to whatever creatives come out, but don't you think that whatever the musicians bring to life is still part of their history and needs to be criticized in a way that has nothing to do with comparing between old releases? What I got from your comment is that they need to find a better drummer, am I right?

Well, it's not like I'm not supporting Art Cruz, I just feel like they didn't do well with him on "his" first record, but obviously I hope it's going to be better on "Omens". But, even if that doesn't happen, they don't have to find a new drummer, because that's just my humble opinion and if they think he's fitting musically, artistically and chemistry-wise, I'm totally fine with it. It's their band, not mine.

Totally agree with your assessment re the drummer. Lamb of God without Adler is not Lamb of God. The same thing basically happened to Dream Theater after the departure of Portnoy. Some musicians are just too great and important to be let go without the entire band going downhill.

Who said I'm hard to please? There's a lot of space between "very easy" and "hard", mind you. "Very easy" just refers to the dubious culture of hyping random, mostly boring singles up. Just as amusing as calling almost every new release album of the year/century after one spin.
