Biography

Morning For The Masses was an experimental rock/post-hardcore band from Baltimore, Maryland, United States.

Morning For The Masses blend clean indie-rock dream-like sequences with the dirty rawhooks of hardcore.

The group consisted of: Andrew Russell (guitars & vocals), Benjamin Seaward Hirschhorn (vocals), Colin James Robson (Guitars), Matthew Edward Lewis Hall (Drums, Bass & Keyboard) They were influenced by many bands like Alexisonfire, Jimmy Eat World, Hot Water Music.

The band formed in September of 2003, after their previous band Mr. Vas Deferens disbanded. Jason, Andrew, and Jeff began playing together since the summer before their sophomore year of high school. The three continued playing together and experimenting with each of their respective influences since then, and after a short time with singer Drew, the band came across Ben in September 2003. For whatever reason, the four clicked musically right away and began an interesting and rewarding songwriting process. After a short bout of recording and polishing up songs the band got their start gigging at the Charm City Art Space in November 2003. In March of 2004, the band added a second guitarist. They recruited another, one CJ Robson, to take the weapon and handle it as he only could.

They have garnered the attention of a European management and promotions company and are recording a studio their song "Call This Treason" for release on a compilation, with bands such as 7 seconds, MxPx, Senses Fail and other successful bands, that will be distributed in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. They reportedly sold 5000 copies of the compilation in under a month last year.

With CJ backing the fiery, face melting rock emitting from the fingers of Andrew Russell, Jeff Lobe holding out the bottom end and his brother Jason keeping that beat right inside his pocket and protecting it with all of his strength. Jeff had to make a decision though. He knew he was meant to bring his solid bass skills to the world of jazz, so he took his leave to the University of North Texas, where he is currently slaving over the bass. But just in time for Jeff's departure was a fair lady's arrival. Carol Dant came and put the badonkadonk back in bass guitar. They first appeared in Emerald Moon Records' compilation album From The Land Of Pleasant Living on November 30, 2004. The band signed into Emerald Moon Records and released their debut studio album "Wake Up Better" on August 30, 2005. Soon, the band released their debut ep "Seconds" on January 30, 2007.

The band will disband in 2008 but drummer Matt Hall formed a band called Spark Is A Diamond.
