Compared to every other post-Meddle record they put out in the seventies, I'd make the case that this is their weakest record

It is the first album (apart from the soundtracks and Ummagumma) of material entirely composed before playing it to a live audience. If you go back to even the first album, half of the songs on all of the canonical Floyd albums up to Animals were road tested. By dwelling within his creative process the band chemistry suffered. The keyboards are particularly unremarkable compared to even the work Rick did on Animals that was omnipresent but seemed far more taking a backstep to Dave's contributions and Roger's vision of taking the music out of outer space and going for something more aggressive.

Who wanna get into fights, leave the lights on, drop bombs, do tours of the east, contract disease, bury bones, break up homes, send flowers by phone, take to drink, go to shrinks, give up meat, rarely sleep, keep people as pets, train dogs, raise rats, fill the attic with cash, bury treasure, store our leisure, but never relax at all because our back's to the wall?

The historical perspective of basically being the last major album of the 70’s is in retrospect so important a context when considering the musical landscape at the time. It was the last major statement by an entity that was as crucial a part of the soundtrack as filmmakers like Coppola and Scorsese were. There are parts of this analogous to Apocalypse Now and Raging Bull to that effect as it also was to Tommy and for Roger particularly, Plastic Ono Band.

The bass on In The Flesh? is fantastic I've been looping the first minute and thirty seconds just because it's so good

Conterversial opinion: This is my least favourite Pink Floyd album that I've listened to; I see what it's going for, but it's not for me - I highly prefer Atom Heart Mother, Meddle and The Dark Side of the Moon .. the Waters centered albums just makes me think it's "Roger Waters' Pink Floyd" for me, not "Pink Floyd" (Waters, Gilmour, Wright, Mason).

I'm getting back into Pink Floyd after roughly 10 years of not really listening to them and I really enjoy their early stuff from 1967-1973.. I think Echoes is their best song.

I feel more emotion behind Waters words partially because they're penned by him, the later years lyrics felt hollow even though Gilmour's voice was a nice pillow of winds. Waters vocals seem to strike my heart more. I felt as if even Richard Wright was able to deliver the "emotional" lines better than Gilmour, his raspy tone works well.

Roger’s performance of this in Berlin is remarkable to consider, from a historical perspective a year after that wall fell. Michael Kamen conducting the orchestra, all the guest vocalists/musicians, and a stage larger than anything he’d do until the next time he toured the album 20 years later.

This album is really good it would be a shame if a youtuber by the name of NostalgiaCritic made a shitty parody of it.

Another brick in the wall part 1. I prefer part 2 of the 3. My favorite Pink Floyd song and music video is Young Lust. That girl with the mullet is hot and cute. 1980s Mullet.

This guy, Roger Waters was a mama's boy. I need to have my parents help me out to live in a motel with a gf. If I get the girl with the bun on her head, from the gym.
