As a shoegaze album of course the guitars are phenomenal, but so is the drumming. The drumming and all that noise elevate this record to a different level.

Nowhere, almost like Loveless, is so much angstier than Souvlaki. Both in terms of the music and the lyrics. More of that wondrous wall of noise chaos.

The three big records of shoegaze: Loveless, Nowhere and Souvlaki. I like to think of Nowhere as an approx. halfway point between Loveless and Souvlaki in terms of its musical characteristics.

This is addicting. Beautiful catchy tunes from the waves of heaven and bliss. I could die listening to this and be happy. [3]

The rhythm section on this album is pretty massive, as they say. Not sure how I didn't notice it before... The drums are all over the place, in a good way, and the bass player is off doing his own innovative stuff too. Throw in the other elements, like the production, and you've got a classic.

Ah, one of my first shoegaze albums (this and Lush's "Gala"), which I bought in 1992, when I was in tenth grade. Still stands, and will always stand, the test of time.
