Biography
The Floe are British pop duo Sarah Springett and Liz Townsend.
Their live performances sweep effortlessly between breathtakingly heartfelt Adele-worthy piano ballads to impassioned angst-driven electronica, drawing on influences such as Massive Attack, Portishead and other luminaries in their field. At the heart of every Floe song lies Townsend's multi-instrumental musicality, Springett's melodic and distinctively direct lyrics and two incredible voices.
Having been touring and recording for over a decade together, with a 'full band' incarnation of The Floe, both Sarah and Liz bring all the experience and wisdom of many years in the business together to a writing partnership that is still in its infancy. A sudden and disastrously timed line-up change in 2010 saw the pair become the only remaining members of a team that were teetering on the brink of mainstream success. Keeping their unshakeable faith in the music and turning to each other as co-writers, managers, business partners and friends the two have truly come back fighting, rewarding the unswerving loyalty of their fans by bringing them something even fresher and more progressive than they could have hoped.
