Emoviolence (also known as Emo Violence) was originally a term created by the band In/Humanity in an attempt to describe themselves, but later formulated as a musical genre derived from the aggressiveness of Powerviolence and the melancholy of Screamo; the genre focuses as much on introspective and personal lyrics with heartbreaking vocals as on aggressiveness and instrumental chaos, even questioning the form or structure in which music should be made.
The band that is considered one of the most important for the genre is Orchid, since it was the one that many consider that took the first steps for the creation of this genre. Other bands such as Jeromes Dream or Lord Snow continued to develop this chaotic and emotional sound.
It is sometimes misunderstood as Screamo, however it must be understood that Screamo does not comprise as much chaos as Emoviolence.
