Toronto sound is a style of R&B music heavily influenced by Alternative R&B and Dark R&B music. It was pioneered by artists like Drake & The Weeknd and was fully developed in the 2010's by OVO Sound artists such as PartyNextDoor or Roy Woods. This sound is not only a regional sound but a international sound being used heavily on Bryson Tiller's debut album, Trapsoul. Following the release of this album this sound became greater known as Trapsoul and the Toronto Sound went back to being a Canadian only genre (for the most part). The peak popularity of the Toronto Sound was from 2013/14 - 2017 when Trapsoul eclipsed it entirely.
