I use to play the piano. I have shamelessly not touched a piano for over a year now. Sometimes I get the intense desire to go somewhere in an erratic state of impulsiveness and play. Play some Schubert or Brahms. Stuff like that. I listened to the nightmarish sounds of Xenakis and I must admit I enjoyed it tremendously. Although I have to say I can't listen to this after 6 PM. VERY scary! Sad Guitar is fantastic. It's what the kills really should have been. (In that song). About your singing. I can understand it very well. There is something awfully shameful in hearing yourself expose so much through singing. I get already in pieces just by hearing my own voice without any octave grasping. Kudos to you for trying though. Beautiful voice. I could fancy myself listening to you.

I still haven't found a flaw (if that's what you scared of) Iannis Xenakis is amazing. Big big discography though. As a cello fanatic I proudly own his Nomos Alpha, for cello. But I never listened to Metastasis. I am going to though! Thanks for the advice. I am right now again, and heavily into shibuya-kei. Think; Cornelius,Pizzicato Five, Kahimi Karie (Is there anything better then her "I am a kitten" song) but to be more specific what I really like is; Buffallo's Daughter and especially the "new rock" album. I never knew I could find a genuine thrilling blues/rock song on it but it's there! The song is called Sad Guitar.

That is strange! Going to have to have a listen to some of your music, seems we've got a fair bit in common but a lot of differences too, and that's always nice :)

Rachel: you've got the funniest & self-deprecating "about me's" I've ever seen! While you admit to lack many skills, you can sure write an interesting, spelling and grammatically correct "about me". Are you sure you haven't got a career in journalism? I saw a joke in Punch magazine: "How do you tell a girl from Essex is having an orgasm?" Answer: She drops her chips.

Ta :) I do already listen to Kanon Wakeshima, and yes her music is very fun to listen to! I've been meaning to check out Rurutia for a while now actually. And Cindergarden I've known about for a while but never actually heard any of their stuff. And everything else I'll be sure to check out. And I don't think I got into Rasputina when I first listened to them either, but a few more listens and I was hooked! xx

Well as you have not provided 5 music recs, I'm afraid I'm going to have to listen to your library radio and get them myself :P

OK then... judging by the kind of music you listen to already, I recommend Au Revoir Simone, Jakalope, Nellie McKay, Patrick Wolf and Rasputina. They're all different genres but you seem pretty open-minded in your music tastes so you may possibly like all of them. Or indeed none of them, but give them a listen anyway. Your turn :)

Ah, yeah, but...........it slows iTunes opening. I save everything to a Music folder and use VLC. Why on earth do you want to live in Norway? Norwegians are irredeemably smug and very pleased with themselves for the geo-political accident of being oil-rich and population poor. The rest of their economy is based on selling one another fun-fur troll figurines. You have no nationality; there is only the international working class. XXLD. PS I'll send you a track from the new Burial 12". You and Chris are still on the Comus guest-list next Saturday, by the way...........

I wonder if I could live more north ;) I am not sure if I can manage so long winter and sooo much snow. I mean I heard that along the coast there's more rain than snow, but it's more about southern coast ;) Anyway. I think this year I'll visit Bergen, I have heard and read alot of this place and area and am extremely curious :D Have to see it myself :D You have no idea how often it happen to me, that I try my poor Norwegian and people automatically switch to English ;) But sometimes it's the other way - I'm using English (in a shop for ex.) but get Norwegian in return :P That's confusing sometimes! About studies, yes, maybe it doesn't sound that fascinating yet,but it's usually like that in first year. Like introducing to the subject etc.But something tells me I'll try your knowledge some time:P I'm done with my studies, but maybe someday I'll start something new...I studied dental technics. Just one info-it's protetics, not dentistry :P Most people don't see diference;) (fb still off..)

:) That part of Norway I also would like to visit (Bergen, Stavanger). The very north parts I am not sure if really make me so curious about them, but surely and thing I have to see in my life is polar lights ! :) I believe that would be something really amazing :D So! If you (and your boyfriend, who surely will fall in love with Norway :D) really would to live in Norway, just do your best with language :) You're really into it, I see, so it shouldn't be so hard :) Those who have to learn, and don't do it with pleasure, have much more problems with it, I think. So, just do it :) I think everyone can speak English here, but surely it would be more convenient to use Norwegian. You study anthropology! Now I am the one who is jealous! I wanted to study but for some reasons I wasn't able to. But still interests make me do some searchings - is it lingual searching or cultural - no matter... I am just sometimes so curious :) Maybe I can sometimes ask you for some materials, or just info :)

How do I like? I love it! So far ;) This place (can't say "country" - in general, I live in Oslo) has unique charm. In the center you can meet people from all around the world. But I find places like "clearly norwegian" ;) And people are so lovely, nice and happy! It's like kind of matrix, comparing to Poland ;P That's so nice! Where does your grandma live? Shame you haven't been there for long, but since now it's few years, your next visit seem to become soon! ;) I have no idea if I will settle here, but have contract till January, so at least till then I'll be staying in Oslo. What comes next - would like to know ! :P At the moment I am au pair here, but maybe when contract is over, I'll try get something else to do and stay for longer period of time. Bulgarian? Hm...Maybe Hungarian, since it's one of those Uralic, I find them quite complicated and hard... Not so hard as Polish :P I believe many Polish SHOULD just slow down when they talk with those who use Polish as foreign language

I came here in January, so it's not very long time... And well yes - of course it doesn't mean you shouldn't learn other languages at all :P I just understand the reason why it's not so common ;) I am really impressed you tried Polish, even if it was one look through the book... Polish is too hard for many Polish, to be true ;) but that's not the point... I find it very difficult for people from abroad. From what I heard, people from Arabic-speaking countries learn Polish quite easily ;)

I speak Polish (I am from Poland), English (not perfect, but still I can communicate ;) ), had German at school, but can't say even a word :P then I decided to learn Swedish and now I went to Norway so I switch to Norwegian hehe But it's not that senseless what you wrote about learning languages in England - I think people speak English all over the world ;) Very very universal one :)
